This is Where "Those" Questions Get Answered

Do you have a question not listed below? Send us an email or ask us on Facebook! You can reach us at thepeacocktea@gmail.com or our Facebook Page

Do you take reservations at the restaurant?

No, we do not take reservations. We are a rustic Tea Room and it does not work in a Renaissance Festival environment like we are in. We are first come first serve. Once we are full, please come up to the counter, get your name on the wait list, wander the Faire a bit and check back earlier than quoted times. We call you three separate times before marking your name off. Also, all our menu items are available to go if you want to find a shady spot out at the faire to nibble on the yummies.

Do you take Credit Cards or Cash only at the restaurant?

We are Cash Only. Have been for years now. Fighting for a cell signal at Faire to approve credit purchases proved to be a huge hinderance to getting folks in and out effectively. This also affected online payments like Cash App, Venmo, Square etc. as well. (trying to get a phone line for only 17 days of business was also a no go)

Where is the restaurant located?

The physical restaurant is located inside the Georgia Renaissance Festival Fairgrounds. It is only open seasonally from around mid April until the first part of June. The address for the Festival is: 6732 Virlyn B. Smith Road, Fairburn, Georgia 30213. The Peacock Tea Room is located in the back area of the faire grounds, next to the Kings Hall Stage. For more info on the Festival itself: www.garenfest.com

Can I buy your tea anywhere else?

No, most of the teas we carry are exclusive blends, so you can only get them from us. For example; the Peacock Blend and Strawberry Moon are exclusive recipes created by us

Are you going to sell other items at the Online Store?

Yes, we will be adding tea related items such as tea balls and tea spoons eventually. If there are specific items you want to see be sure to let us know on our Facebook page!

How do I make a gallon of Peacock Blend, Strawberry Moon or Berry Berry iced teas at home so it tastes like yours?

Normally we make several gallons at a time, but the home formula is as follows:

  1. Bring 1 gallon of filtered water to a full roiling boil. Turn off heat.

  2. Steep 1 heaping cup of loose leaf tea in the boiling water for about 10 minutes.

  3. Strain the leaves. This is best done with a fine mesh spoon or pouring the tea through a strainer, tea filter or cheesecloth into a pitcher.
Be sure to not pour boiling water straight into a glass pitcher or it may crack! You can add some cool water into the pitcher beforehand to avoid cracking or breaking your pitchers.

  4. Add 1-1.5 cups of sugar, depending on your sweetness preference. We use a a heaping cup per gallon. (Except if you are making Berry-Berry. No sugar is used for Berry-Berry)

  5. Stir, Chill and Enjoy! (one note, due to the hibiscus petals in the Peacock Blend it may turn cloudy in the fridge. No worries, this is normal and does not affect the taste. )
